Special Training

Cadets have the opportunity to attend numerous special training events and activities on weekends throughout the program year.

Star Level Program

The Star Level Program is the main mandatory training program used by all Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps in Canada. This program is mandated by the Department of National Defence (DND), through the Directorate of Cadets & Junior Rangers. Cadets are taught a variety of subjects that include citizenship, physical fitness, healthy living, drill, marksmanship, map and compass, outdoor survival, eco-friendly camping and military history and traditions.

Community Service & Social Responsibility

A focus of the Canadian Cadet Movement is community involvement and developing the cadets to be good citizens.

All cadets who participate can earn community service hours for school, as well as the satisfaction of knowing they have helped others.

Cadets Mission

The aim of the Cadet Program is to develop in youth the attributes of good citizenship and leadership, promote physical fitness and stimulate the interest of youth in the sea, land, and air activities of the Canadian Forces.

Leadership

The Cadet Program encourages youth to be fair and ethical leaders. Cadets learn to take responsibility for their actions and motivate their peers to follow their example.

Physical Fitness

Cadets develop an understanding of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. Participation in fitness activities results in a positive attitude that enables cadets to take on new challenges.

Citizenship

The development of responsible and caring citizens is one of the most important aspects of the Cadet Program. Throughout the year, cadets participate in citizenship activities in cities and towns across Canada.
