The Cadets of the 1849 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps held an RSM Change of Command Ceremony on October 25, 2023. Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) C. Post relinquished her position of Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) of the 1849 Lorne Scots RCACC to Master Warrant Officer (MWO) T. Wilson.













On October 21st, cadets participated in a regionally directed activity and a tagging day.
Cadet Cricket 2023 was a multi-unit (all elements – open to Army/Air/Sea cadets) sports/fun day held at CFB Borden.
1849 Lorne Scots RCACC assisted with the Autism Ontario Walk at Fendley Park on September 24th. Cadets helped with set up/tear down and with running of the event.

Planning Night – Wednesday 6 Sept 2023
The location is 30 Center St, our HQ.
For the cadets that are not participating in this event, this is a good time to get back into routine, with this free evening that is normally dedicated to cadets you could use your time to get your uniforms clean and pressed, boots polished and figure out what exchanges you need.
Training Night – Wednesday 13 Sept 2023
All cadets will attend. The location is 30 Center St, our HQ.
Training Night – Wednesday 20 Sept 2023 and onward
Location ODSS
Parent Information Night – Wednesday 20 Sept 2023
This is meant for parents of current cadets. Wednesday 20 Sept 2023 we will be holding a parent information session. It is highly encouraged for all parents to attend. It will run from 1900hrs to 2000hrs at ODSS. We will discuss key information for the training year.
We would like to congratulate two members of the 1849 Lorne Scots RCACC who earned awards during the summer programs.
WO T Sword earned the Lieutenant-General J.E. (Jack) Vance, CMM, CD Leadership Award at CTC Argonaut.
Sgt MacNeil earned the Top Cadet for Week One for her platoon for Expedition at CTC Argonaut.
Congratulations! CFB Borden hosted a CAF Engagement day, featuring a number of the training academies operating out of the base.
Presentation itinerary:
CFRC (Canadian Forces Recruiting Centre) Det Barrie :
1 hour presentation about CAF employment opportunities for cadets aged 15 years and above, including Q&A;
CFMPA (Canadian Forces Military Police Academy):
(1) Guided tour of CFMPA building;
(2) Display of equipment;
(3) Demonstration of simulator;
CFFCA (Canadian Forces Fire and CBRN Academy:
(1) CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) equipment demonstration.
(2) CAF Firefighting Equipment display and demonstrations outside A-249 (CFFCA Training Area)
400 Squadron:
(1) Static display of CH146 Griffon between Hangars 17 and 18;
(2) Guided tour of CH146 Griffon with Q&A;
(3) Interactive tour of maintenance and repairs;
(4) Videos in Hangar 18.
