Join Army Cadets

The Army Cadet program is open to all young people between the ages of 12 and 18.

The 1849 Lorne Scots Army Cadet Corps meets every Wednesday night (6:30pm to 9:15pm) from September to June, at Orangeville District High School (ODSS) located at 22 Faulkner St, Orangeville, Ontario.  We also offer numerous activities on weekends throughout the program year.

New cadets and their parents are welcome to visit any Wednesday from the first Wednesday after Labour Day until the first Wednesday of June, and see first hand what our program has to offer.

Online enrollment application’s are accepted year round (follow the link below).

To become part of 1849, head over to our national site and complete the registration form, using the button below. Once it is received by us, we will be in touch to complete registration.

Remember, there is no cost to join, all uniforms are provided for free. As well, there is absolutely no requirement for cadets to join the Canadian Forces.

Participation in many cadet events can qualify for Ontario high school community service hours, and in some cases even high school credits!

Exciting Opportunities for Adults

1849 can only offer our exciting and challenging program because of the work by its core of dedicated Officers, Staff, and Support Committee.

We can offer hardworking and motivated adults the opportunity to become part of an exciting and growing group in Orangeville. We can make good use of your skills and energy. You can be heavily involved, or contribute occasionally! There are opportunities to become CIC Officers, Civilian Instructors (CI), Civilian Volunteers (CV), and to participate in the Support Committee. Each position has its own challenges and rewards, and is certain to offer activities not likely found in other areas of your life.
