We are a small team of dedicated Canadian Armed Forces members, Civilian Instructors and Volunteers committed to instructing the youth of our community to become the leaders of tomorrow.
We are always looking for volunteers and staff to help administer the program. Anyone interested should direct their inquiries to the Commanding Officer.
Captain Chris Morton
Commanding Officer
Chris Morton started with the cadet program in 1999 in Milton and shortly after moved and joined 1849 Lorne Scots RCACC were he spent the next 6 years working his way through the program attending summer camps in Blackdown Park located in CFB Borden. Capt Morton spent 4 summers in Blackdown as on course and as staff, in his final year before heading to Flemming Collage he was selected for a staff position in Whitehorse Cadet Training center in the Yukon, while unknow to him at the time he met his future wife Tara.
Capt Morton then began working as a volunteer within the cadet program starting in Lindsay Ontario until he found a home in Red Deer Alberta. It was then with 1390 Red Deer Army Cadets that Capt Morton met Capt Annett Tucker who mentored him and helped him complete the application and move on to become an officer within the Canadian Cadet Organization.
Capt Morton returned to Ontario in 2016 and began working with 676 in Georgetown and the Ontario expedition program. He began taking specialty course qualifying him as an instructor in Flat Water Canoe, RSO Air Rifle, Mountain Bike, Cold Weather and Abseil. In 2019 he transferred to 1849 RCACC as the training officer. Capt Chris Morton’s full time career started in the trades as a steam fitter and as he progressed he soon began working as a Project Manager currently with MWS Solutions and teaching night school at Conestoga collage. Capt Morton attributes his success to the valuable skills he learned through the cadet program.

Capt Simoes joined the CAF in 2015 when he found himself spending much of his time volunteering with the Army Cadets when his eldest son joined.

Officer Cadet Misty Wilson
Training Officer/Red Star Officer
Misty lives and works in the Orangeville community. She has a diverse background and entrepreneurial spirit. She is the co-owner of The Great Canadian Solid Wood Furniture Company. Misty joined as a volunteer with our Support Committee and then joined the “green side” as a Civilian Volunteer.
